The Solid Waste Management Commission of Marshall County is a 28E Agency, which was established in 1973. It immediately initiated a project to secure property, build and operate a municipal Solid Waste Landfill serving all of Marshall County Property. The landfill opened on October 1, 1975 and still has more than 50 years of capacity.
Accepting the 2005 ISOSWO Outstanding Environmental Protection Facility Award on behalf of the Solid Waste Management Commission of Marshall County and its landfill staff are commission Vice--Chairperson Dale Thompson, Site Foreman Rod Oelmann, and Landfill Manager Joe Robertson.
